Keel Bolt Lead Plugs
I am preparing to inspect the keel bolts on my 1968 Swan 36 Black Rose.

I had a recent survey that recomended inspection of the keel bolts.

I have been have a several day long email discussion with The Professor (Lars). He has been very helpful to my understanding of what will be required to accomplish this project.

I have included a picture of the hull and keel. There are seperations between keel and hull of up to about 12mm. I plan to take each of the 11 keel bolts out one at a time and inspect or replace them as needed. There are no leaks it appears the bolts have simply loosend of the 40 + years of this boats life.
The professor tells me these bolts are a threaded rod with nuts above and below the keel. Access to the lower nut requires removal of a lead plug in the keel.

Dose anybody on the forum have any experiece with the access plugs, finding, removing and replacing the plugs. Also if someone had pictures of accessing the keel bolts in the keel it would be very useful.

Thanks to all.
