Scanstrutt self leveling radar bracket

Has anybody ay experence of the Scan strutt self-leveling brackets? My radar is a Raytheon RL70C set which is mounted on the mast just above the first set of spreaders. This gives a good range but because the band width is narrow,  when the yacht is heeled over the returned signal can be poor. If I mount the radar lower down eg on a pole, the range decreases. So I am looking to fit the self leveling bracket produced by Scanstrutt.

Has anybody any experence of doing this? Does it work?

John:

I've put my Furuno antenna on the Scanstrut bracket just this spring, same spot as you. I did it based on good feedback I'd gotten on it here in the states. Although I haven't been out in any real foul weather this summer so far, and hardly used the radar at all, except to play with it, I can confirm the leveling characteristics work seemingly well - it smoothly levels the dome, but isn't so loose that it bounces around or overt travels, etc.

Al the best,

Geoff
