S&S 50 Motorsailor
Rather curious compared to our speedy-looking S&S Swans is the excursion of Nautor into pure cruising: the Swan 50. Only a few were built.

Dear Christian

she's actually not a Swan, she's called Nautor 50.

Fair winds!

I remember the boat. They also built some Don Shead powerboats around that time. He was the designer of the early Sunseekers. As far as the Nautor 50 was concerned, Nautor sold the moulds to Nauticat and they used them for a motor sailer which was built to a lower specification. They also bought the moulds for the Nautor 43 and did the same thing but added a bigger coachroof. Gavin

Dear members
Nautor also built a 39 ft motorsailer, although only four of them. The moulds were later sold to Nauticat, see information about Design 2301 on the S&S blog. It appears that Bruce is not aware of the hulls built by Nautor.
The Shead-designed powerboats appeared before the motorsailers, and seven 47-footers and two 40-footers were built. The moulds were later sold to the Finnish Navy.
Best regards
Lars
