Follow up in Drive Shaft Installation

Professor,

The drive shaft went in ok with the cutlas bearing removed.  It would not have gone in with the bearing in place.

Dear Alan
Thank you for the information.
Were you able to sort out the electrical problems?
Kind regards
Lars

Dear Professor,

We did all the electrical tests outlined in Nigel Calder’s book Boatowner’s Mechanical and Electrical Manual.  Everything checks out OK.  However, a couple of months prior the engine was cranking on its own and we fixed some engine wires replaced the starter switch, the battery selector switch, the starter motor and its solenoid, and the shut off solenoid.  Hopefully we corrected the root cause of the problem.

Best Regards,

Alan
