Bow hatch locking system
Someone can inspire us advising about a guaranteed hermetic
locking system for the original sliding bow hatch of our 44?
We always had water problems and now remaking the teak deck we are desperately looking for some experienced suggestion. Some drawing or photos are welcome! ;)

Thanks a lot.

Alberto,

I replaced my deck a few years ago, and re-built the sliding forehatch ( new runners etc) I have never understood why it does not leak - it should, because it is worn, loose fitting, and problematic to lock. ( I use a piece of lanyard connecting the lock to the frame - very unsigthly, but re-assuring when beating) I am going to replace the whole thing with a folding modern hatch, and give myself one less thing to worry about when sailing offshore!

Best of luck, Rob. Sarabande 47.

We are trying as much as we can to keep Pippus original !
I trust in Caffarena deck specialist in Italy and we will let you know.

No others have suggestions?
