41 main hatch
Dear Lars, I have removed the perspex sliding hatch , and have found a strip of rubber across the lower forward end held on by a ( roughly cut) strip of stainless. I think this must have been an attempt to seal the forward end of the hatch. From the number of screw holes in the perspex, this was not the original fitting. Could you please tell me what was fitted originally, and what its intention was. It could also have been a limit stop to stop the hatch hitting the extension to the deck moulding at the aft end, which has a strip of rubber glued on.

best regards

Dear Cosmo Little
Your conclusions appear to be correct. I would appreciate comments from other owners, as these details are not well documented.
Kind regards
Lars

Cosmo, as you I took mine off and replaced with a set of rubber door stops at the ends of the slides so that the hatch does not go fully back and hit the garage roof. It also creats a small amount of space at the aft end between the hatch and the garage making the hatch easier to get hold off and pull back.
