Insurance for Classic Swan

Dear All, for a second year in a row, we find difficulties to get insurance for our Swan 47. She is in excellent condition (even the surveyor confirmed this in his report), but almost all insurance companies are advising they do not want to ensure boats over 30 years old.

Can only echo Matteo - Kairos has been insured with Pantaenius (German Office) since 2017, no problems at all. They were also very good when we had a claim in 2018, very efficient and supportive.

I am very sorry but I cannot say the same thing of the Pantaenius office in Monaco (Montecarlo) with whom I had a very bad experience - unfortunately still going on with attorneys.

I guess that the insurance policy strongly depends on the local agent so my advice is: probably the name Pantaenius is ok, but avoid the Monaco office!

Tarot is a Swan 37, built in 1973 and since 20 years very well insured with Paul L'Orteye in Eindhoven......

Hi Matteo, thanks for the feedback and we indeed tried them, as she was insured via them before. However, they do not want to insure her for typhoon risk, which the only real risk in Hong Kong.
