Swan 411 mast weight

Anyone have their hands on weight of mast, rigged?  I am pretty sure I have it at home, but need it now from the office - if anyone can help, that would be great -

Happy sailing,

Geoff in WI

Geoff, I had my total rig lifted last winter (radar - standing and running rigging - furling system) the crane driver indicated 750kg on his monitor.

Dear Geoff and John

I would like to draw your attention to the discussion on this forum beginning 25 July this year on the subject Running backstays and babystay Swan 411.

The weight was also brought up there.

Kind regards

Lars

John -

Thanks very much for your reply - I appreciate it.  Good to have that as a nice, accurate number.

Dear Professor -

I see you are right, but there is a little controversy = the August post was talking about 750 lb, whereas it seems 750 kg maybe the number - think the larger number is probably right - but now I want to be sure. For me, it all gets down to whether the yard I keep her in has to bring in a crane from outside, or if they can use the one they have (1,000 lb max).

Anyway, thanks for the heads up - I will hopefully establish the definitive number shortly -

Dear Geoff

The mast weight is abt 750 lbs. Would appreciate to hear the result if you do a proper weighing.

Kind regards

Lars

Geoff did you get the weight of the rig checked?

Yes and no - my yard gave me a number that came off the digital readout of the crane (however accurate that is supposed to be) - i do not have it in front of me, but it was a big number, like 1500#, in that area. I think there were other comments on this site about 750 - and a side bar about lb vs kilo, with the final remark that it was lbs (if memory serves). Of course, 750 kgs would make sense with the 1500-1600 lb range. 1600 lb is a lot of weight, but it is a big stick and along with it some heavy rigging materials too.

This week I will be getting ready for step and launch, and will take some section measurements so I can cross check all with some direct calcs. To me, the real number just means whether or not I have to pay for a crane every time I want the rig pulled. I will make every effort to clear up any last questions this week -

Cheers,

Geoff

John

Just pulled the owners manual, right there in the rig section, it says the weight of the rig is 350 kg, including the rigging.

I will be leaning toward that but will still check the sections, etc.
