Dalonso A broken mast can be repaired by a sleeved and screwed splice, like the one halfway up the mast, or alternatively by welding. This also depends on the damage. If you can find another upper or lower part from some earlier accident it just needs to be spliced in. The difficulty with welding is that the mast is not necessarily straight after welding is finished, and the weld will be visible unless the mast is painted. The welder needs to have experience of such work. The mast section alloy corresponds to 6061 T6. Kind regards Lars |
