Hello, on my 38 (you can see some pics on www.only-you.it) I replaced the original white ones with  black rubber mat, not a bad resoult. You can find them in many hardware shops.

I have replaced the rubber step pads on my Swan 43 using "Perko" step pads. They are sold as a set with the rubber pads and chromed metal frame.

The "Perko" units are still available from marine chandleries.

These seem to be an exact replacement for my rubber pads which were also very old and no longer serviceable.

I did notice that the original metal frames had developed stress cracks at the corners where the screw hole is located so I replaced the frame as well.  The frames appeared to be an exact replacement to the original units.

Good Luck,

Hiro
