I have red all your comments and decided to increase the charging capacity of the alternator. I have choosen a new Mastervolt 130 amp/12V. On our 47 we have a perkins M65 and it was confirmed that we could install this alternator.
However this alternator is too big to be fixed at the same place as the old one (the engine box does not close). There seems to be place on the other side of the engine. Has anybody experienced this problem?
