Main sheet winch for a 411
We will replace the main sheet winch on our 411, which appears to be the original one, with a self-tailing one. It appears that a Lewmar Ocean ST 30 can take the place of the current non self tailing 40. Is this the correct winch, or is a ST 40 required?

The current wedge is in bad shape, and I want to replace it. Any suggestion on what material to use, resp where to get this?

Assume you have two or three parts on your main sheet. With two parts you double the power of the 30, i.e. it corresponds to a 60, with three parts to a 90.
Compare these with your primary winch size.

PS
Do you mean the wedge under the winch? Suggested material is GRP, a shop doing GRP work can probably find a suitable piece which has to be shaped and painted.
Best regards
