S&S Swan Maintenance - Swan 36 fuel tank

Swan 36 fuel tank

Good morning,

Can anyone confirm if the steel fuel tank in hull 36/021 (original tank, fibre-glassed in underneath water tank below the cockpit) is made of mild steel or stainless steel?

I've just drained ~50L of water from under the remaining fuel in the tank ... so hoping it's stainless!

The backstory is the boat was previously abandoned and sank in the boatyard. She was filled with rainwater etc, including the cockpit - which then leaked water through the fuel filler into the tank... :-/

Dear Derek

The fuel tank is of GRP, and integral with the hull.
