Inner forestay? Hi, I have a Swan 47 (hull nro 14) and I am wondering whether the tracks in the front of the boat are meant for an inner forestay or something else. Not sure if they would be strong enough and how would one attach a forestay to a track. See pic Attached. Any thoughts?

Dear Peter Your yacht originally had an inner forestay, for the lower end there was a recessed hyfield lever where the anchor windlass is now. There should be a lug and halyard sheave on the mast for the upper end.
The deck track was intended for a tall boy, a sail carried inside the spinnaker. The track can be used for an inner forestay, put a slider on the track, and adjust the inner forestay length so the slider comes close to the track forward end. The forepeak bulkhead provides support there.
Kind regards
Lars

Thank you so much for the information! This is great news as I might be able to add an inner forestay.
