Swan 47 centre board cable

Good morning,

May I ask the collective wisdom of this group to tell me what size wire is spec for the ceterboard cable on th 47.

Also - what tool should I use to open the little inspection cap on the pennant tube - it is too small for a winch handle  - big Allen key maybe...???

Thank you/Cygnus 47/048

Dear Adrian

The CB pennant should not be of wire - it does not last long in this application - instead of low-stretch rope. Originally it was 12 mm Gleistein Cup, but nowadays there are ropes with lower stretch if you prefer that.
Pls note that the pennant should be double and go around the CB sheave, with both ends inside the boat, so you can haul the sling around, enabling inspection of the entire length with the boat in the water.
You can learn more about this by reading the Swan 57 CB Manual text, found in the password protected section of this website.
Kind regards
Lars
