GARMIN wind transducer!!

I hope nobody has bad experiences of SILVA (today GARMIN) wireless wind system? The transducer on top of the mast lasted only 4 years! I have also B&G wind with cable from early 1980's and still working ok. Bu the Garmin transducer's solar cell (made in lithuania) broke in pieces after 4 years on Portugal coast. Normal sailing, normal  winds - material error? The warranty was only 2 years and no replacement to s new one ... said Garmin representative. But i promised to tell every swan owner this and here it is done! Rgds, SAFA S&S 44.
