Swan 57 transom holes hello all S&S Swan friends, the S&S Swan 57 (not extended) has originaly four holes in transom, two small for cockpit drain and two bigger, one for bilge pump and one for engine exhaust. on 57 007 the engine exhaust has been replaced a little higher (see picture), and the oirginal exhaust hole is used as a complement for cockpit drain... as I want to go back to the original solution I was asking me why this modification? do some of you have encountered problems with the cockpit drains of a 57 ??? thanks for your help ! Hi Yves, on Kairos, we never had a problem with the cockpit drains (yet) - although so far we have been able to avoid the really heavy weather. Previous owners must have modified Kairos' transom such that they used the lower port transom hole for the generator exhaust. As you can see in the picture below the cockpit bilge pump now has another hole quite high up and more in the centre. Hope this helps, Fair winds Stefan Kairos (57/043) |
