Leaky keel sheath cracks Dear Lars, Dear associates, does the 55 have keel pockets as well? Time to take all the sheath off the keel, or a local patch-up would be ok in your opinion? nb: I keep her on dry stand 11ish months a year. Pictures are right after lift out and 4 weeks in the water. Dear Michele The 55 drawings do not show any keel pockets.
The keel is probably sheathed with GRP, and this layer will slowly come off with the time. You could wait and see how it develops.
The third photo shows a crack, and the recommendation is to investigate if there is a reason for it.
