Swan 43' coachhouse window upgrades?

Question to all, anyone that has owned or does own a Swan 43 (my boat is Zeeogel, 1971 Swan 43 hull #49) - has anyone upgraded the 4 coachhouse windows to a stainless steel framed custom window?

I've replaced the window glass a few times over the 30 years I've owned the boat but I'm now experiencing water finding its way through the white framing and damaging the teak interior wall veneer?

I'm just looking for a more updated approach or maybe someone has a better way to keep the window plates more waterproof?

Thanks in advance.

Hello, Don!

Have you read Professor's post regarding sealing of the windows on 17th July 2008?

Best regards

Hello Don,

We had a similar problem on Kairos when we bought her in 2017; water was finding it's way in and damaging the interior teak.

Our boatyard made completely new windows, frame and all, using the original ones as templates. Worked a treat. Unfortunately, I do not know how exactly hey did it but it seemed kind of a "bread and butter" job for them. Seemed like they had done it several times before ...

Not sure if this helps but a half decent boatyard should be able to assist.

Fair winds  and Merry Christmas

Dear Don,

onboard Vanessa too the original damaged GRP frames have been rebuilt in stainless steel, and the old one have been used as a templates. It's an easy job for nearly any shipyard, as Stefan said.

New ones (see attached pic) have been installed with butylic, in 2016, not a single drop of water came in so far.

Fair winds and happy Xmas!
