Goiot Hatch SWAN 38
We still have the original Goiot hatches on our SWAN 38 Jacaranda. They are all working fine, but we have identified a leak in the handle unit on the front hatch (see the picture). During heavy rain or water on the deck during sailing, it is dripping from the handle unit into the front cabin. Any ideas about repair ? Jorgen |

Hi Jorgen Looks like the photo didn't work, unfortunately, so a little difficult to help but we did change all the seals on Kairos' Goiot hatches, and some of the panes, and they are as good as new. Very tight in virtually all conditions, not sure if this would also address your handle situation though. For anything extreme weatherwise, and when moored for longer periods, we also had covers made by a sailmaker for all our hatches. These attach with some fastners/studs to the wooden base of the hatches and protect the hatches very well. Maybe this helps (a little). Fair Winds Stefan Sy Kairos (57/043) |
