swan 43 trim tab
Hallo all

I am lokking at a Swan 43 for sale in Mexico on Yachtworld, it com with this comment about the the trim tab and rudder:

This boat still has her trim tab on the back of her keel, but the rudder has been modified for tractability down wind. This combination has proved very reliable over many many miles at sea.

What is the plus and minus with this setup ? any coments is wellcom. Do any of you know the actual boat ore have som coments of the boat

Dear Michael

This is sales talk, suggest you try to find out more about what has been done to the rudder. With the windvane the rudder is not needed much at sea.

I have not seen this boat. If you look carefully at the photos you will see the bow pulpit is unbolted and bent. It may have had some damage, you might wish to ask about hurricane or similar problems.

It is quite inaccessible even from LA. If it can not get out of Baja on its own bottom there may be shipping issues. The roads are pretty rudimentary.
