Rhombus continued
Dear Lars et al.,
We have the same setup on the 40s. Is it strong enough to handle a storm jib?? I took it up a few years ago when painting the deck and have wondered if the deck has sufficient support to attach a storm jib. If so I would take the bolts through the deck and put in a backing plate.

Thanks in advance

MIke

It is suggested that you check whether there is a solid area without core under the fitting, and if so what size back-up plate fits in that area. If you drill holes for through-deck bolts the thickness of the solid laminate can be determined. With this information the load bearing capacity can be estimated.

How far from the nearest bulkhead is this fitting?

Best regards

Lars
