Saving your genoa sheets 41, 411, others?

Dear all,

we had lots of tear and wear on our genoa sheets and guard wires, when not close hauled and tried putting all sort of pipes on the guardwires without success until we decided to put a staniless steel pipe as on the picture attached. It works really well, so I thought it might be of some use to others.
