Reckmann furler blocking
from sunny Sicily, an urgent request to anyone who has had a Reckmann furler ball bearing problem..... we seem to have the lower ball bearing causing the problem, and after trying the rigger's suggestion of putting the entire axle into deisel fuel for 24 hours... it moves well for a spell and then blocks again. moving it forward and backward unblocks it, but do not want to continue if this creates more damage. have been told that the next step is removing entire axle for repair, as the stainless welding needs to be broken to get to the bearings. not great news, as this compromises winter navigation plans.....any ideas as to alternative unblocking methods would be truly appreciated!
"speranza è l'ultima a morire" or loosely translated "hope is the last to go"..... cheers! Jayne Aorangi 47/047

I will try to call the German supplier tomorrow and present them for your problem. Will tell you what they said! :-)

Many regards
