swan 47

Hi sirs,

I'm interested to by a Swan 47.Could anybody suggest me 2 or 3

maintenance troubles, or structural,  in the history of this great boat?

...any boat has her own ones...Trusting in your help for a Swan 47 future!

Hello Pegaso:

We own hull 48 and are the 5th owners. When we purchassed her about two years ago, our surveyor had almost no adverse comments. The things he mentioned were very small issues. We do not have any 'chronic' problem on this boat. She is sturdy and reliable. There are a few design points which make her a little less comfortable as a live aboard boat (compared to more modern cruisers), but we learn to accept these.

If you really are serious about buying one, might I suggest considering going to the S&S Rendezvous in July. Plan on spending a night and ask all the owners and crew of the 7 boats their opinion of a Swan 47. It is unlikely to ever find so many educated opinions in one place at one time.

Hello Pegaso,
Can only confirm all of Milo's comments and say that Aorangi has gotten us through some difficult weather and always given us the most sound assurance of her seaworthiness. Wish you luck in your search, and hoping you'll be at the Rendezvous to meet all the 47's.....you won't be disappointed!
