upgrading winches Dear Members, I am considering upgrading the spinnaker winches to selftailers on my swan 38. What type and size of selftailers fit best on the same location as the old winches ? kind regards Jan Kooistra swan 38/yulunga

Dear Matteo, I have also been thinking to update my winches on my Swan 40. May be I could change to the same as you did. Which type of Lewmar did you have before and what is the diameter of the base on yours? With best wishes for a happy new sailing year, Leif (Sunniva V)

Dear Matteo, Thanks very much. I have measured the diameter of the present winches and it seems that the lewmar 46 st is about the same diameter ? Therefore (and because of the price diefference) I would like to go for the 46st; I mean the old ones are lewmar 44 and they served well (not too small) ? Or do you have other experience or reasons to go for the 48 st ? kind regards, Jan
