Forestay length Swan 57

Dear owners

I have broken the forestay on my Swan 57 (at sea close hauled....quite scary!!!). The result was that the forestay is bent and broken and hard to measure. I have riggers taking measurements that differ from my own.

Does anyone know how I would get the correct designed length of the forestay, or better still, rod dimension for the Reckmann gear, to check the results we have?

Thank you

Graham

The records say that the original mast has been replaced with a Hood furling spar 1991. It is possible that the forestay length has changed in connection with this.

Did the stay break at the top?
