411 Muffler
Dear Owners
Following my purchase of Baron I needed to removed the engine (Nanni 50hp) to address sea water corossion in the heat exchanger and exhaust elbow. during the removal process I noticed that the muffler (wet exhaust) was installed in such a way that it blocked access to the gearbox oil dipstick and filler. Has anyone addressed where to better position the muffler. I have included a picture from another Swan showing a solution but I am not sure of the model - it may be a 441!
Best regards
David

Thanks John
Dis you use a standard 'off-the-shelf' muffler or did you have one made.

In my 411 there is a Volvo Penta muffler under the aft double berth like the one displayed. When I bought the boat there was one like this probably originally mounted by Nautors who had fitted a custom drain valve on the outlet stainless steel flange (n.5). Unfortunately the original valve had suffered severe corrosion and was leaking. When I substituted the whole muffler with a similar one I did not fit a new drain valve for mere laziness; it may be a good idea to do it.

Thank you Daniel
We are sourcing something similar to install under the berth. I will photograph the installation when finished.
