Polars for Swans
Does anyone know where I might find performance Polars for S&S Swans to use with routing software?

Dear stuartjmclean

This question has been asked a few times on this Forum. The suggestion is to find an IMS (nowadays ORCi) rating certificate for the yacht or a sistership, as the requested information is contained there. Certificates can be downloaded from some national sailing association websites.

If you can inform which Swan model is in question I will check what can be found.

Matteo, would it be appropriate to present this information with the technical data for Swans by S&S?

I have written a MathCad spreadsheet that plots a polar graph for the Swan 41 from data provided by Lars in an earlier post.

Hello everyone
An official ORC Stability Certificate for a 411 is provided below; the AVS is 128 degrees. The certificate also provides much of the information required for developing a Polar chart.

Also available from ORC is a Speed Guide for yachts having rating certificates,

This is a developed version of the polars/tables so far presented here

Dear All,

with the usual kind help of Lars Strom, we are uprgading the website with Club Certificate (open www.classicswan.org, click on "Swans by S&S", then select a model -e.g. 47- and finally click on "Documents").

Please allow us a few das to update all 15 Sparkman & Stephens designed Swans.

Hi all

On the question of polars, would it be too esoteric to ask if any one has some data for a Swan 55 Yawl? If they are cotained within an old IMS certificate, where could I get a hold of that?
