Gennaker on a 411
Dear all,
I wonder whether anyone has experience of installing a gennaker or an asymmetrical sail on a 411.
I am particularly interested in topics regarding:
1) which kind of gennaker (nowadays there are so many kinds that the matter is becoming quite confusing),
2) a possible bowsprit, and
3) a possible roller furler in addition to the existing genoa furler.

My needs: mainly cruise or friendly racing, light or moderate winds and, first of all, a good substitute for the spinnaker and its bulky poles (purists please have mercy and forgive me!).

Daniel -

See thread on 'Gennaker on Swan 38' in this forum, just a few down - I have a North gennaker with a dousing sock, no bowsprit, no furler. The sail is so easy to fly, and pulls very strongly in light air. Nice - I highly recommend getting one.

Best,

Geoff
